I agree with Shodan, don't get a mac. Macs are a little more powerful for graphics applications and they are virus proof, but that's about the only
upsides (in my opinion). Windows may be watered down and over-commercialized, but it has much more support for tweaking and improving the overall system. And
yes, they are needlessly expensive.

Anime Studio 5 is gonna give you similar results to Flash. Most of the animation is Kinetic, or skeleton based, meaning theres not...

though im sure many would dissagree(Windows or Mac is about the most popular argument on the net), they both have there ups and downs.

I know that if I were ever to get a laptop, it would be a crappy netbook. I played around with a tablet laptop though, and it was pretty cool, but it would
probably be more effective to just buy a seperate tablet and carry it around with your laptop. That way, if your tablet breaks, you could save the laptop, or
vice-versa. Besides, it's not like it's a hastle to carry around my Wacom Bamboo; it's more or less the lightest piece of equipment I have and
it's really thin. Oh,...

@Shodan: True, but the fact of the matter is, if he wants to go into animation, he's going to have to learn 3d
anyway. A lot of animation currently either utilizes or is completely 3d. And just like how the seperate jobs of typesetter and page layout artist eventually
merged into one, I guarantee in the next 5 or 10 years the average animator will have to know both 2d and 3d animation. There's nothing hard about 3d,
it's just very memory...

making). and alot of good converters and packing/unpacking and opening software(media converter, 7 zip).

My opinion? Don't buy one.

I was actually considering getting a laptop (non-tablet) myself (for school, and as a mobile art workstation) but then I remembered that laptops suck. No,
they really do. No laptop is ever going to outweigh a pc in terms of pure processing power. And if it does, it's going to be around 6 grand. Have you
ever used an animation program, or done any animation in 3d or otherwise? Ever edited video? It's INCREDIBLY resource-intensive. You...
