I think I have lost my will to draw... |

I don't know what's been wrong with me this summer. Lately I just haven't found the will. Today I had a paper and pencil in front of me, rearing to
go but then nothing. I ended making a dumb stick figure dude something or other. I hope I haven't lost interest in drawing all together because it's
the only thing that I'm possibly have a future in.

It'll come back to you, loads of people take a break from it, I took a break from drawing that lasted almost a year, but then one day you come up with a
good idea that you'd like to draw and just go for it, pretty much all it takes to get back into the swing of things ^_^
Look around the Gallery for inspiration, or continue to draw stick figures for now, it'll help you with poses and basic level anatomy, any drawing is practice! |

Well this is what helped me, but I hope this will help you too.

Sometimes, you just gotta go out and find some inspiration.
It's like that saying.. about film makers who just make films about film making... I forgot how it went. haha! but the point is that a drawing is always a drawing of something. DRAWING of SOMETHING. If the only thing in your head is DRAWING and you don't have enough of SOMETHING.. your hand's not gonna move... or you'll end up making crappy work like those filmmakers. Taking a break will help you balance those two things. |

Haha...listen, it's perfectly common to feel that way. It's called an
"artist's block" and by no means does it mean you've lost interest. It's just a simple loss of inspiration. But, lucky for you, there are
cures! Sometimes, all it takes is just stepping outside and looking at things around you until something hits you that says, "You must draw so and so
NOW!!" Or maybe it just takes some time until you realize you've been dumb all along not to realize all these great ideas floating around in your
head! Give it some time. I've been in my share of these art slumps and I understand they aren't pleasant, but I'll let you know that "will to
draw" never permanently leaves me and I just continue on! FIGHTING!! >

Aww that's a shame! It might be hiding underneath that table there.
Translation! What I'm saying is all you need really is a little inspiration. Go do something that has no relevance to drawing. Go enjoy yourself but the thing you must do when doing this is pay close attention to what you are seeing. Everything is art but it's the artists Job of interpreting it and showing others what you see through your eyes. You'll get the urge to draw something soon if you do this. Don't just sit and stare at a blank page. It sucks all the imagination from your mind. Another thing you can try is instead of making something up, copy something, sketch something and it'll be helping to improve your drawing skills when you finally get the urge n_n kikitue xx
