And father's eyes are watching a bit different directions? maybe.. Still the drawning is good 
Btw, can you draw fat or old men as good as these young bodybuilders? This just came to my mind since this, and couple of other pictures I saw from you, only have very well build men in them.  (NOTICE: I'm not doubting you or trying to be mean or anything)

Your shading is awesome, as usual, and I wish i could draw lips and noses as awesome as that too. ^^
Other than what is already said, if I were to nitpick, the crits would be thus: 1. The balance of left and right for the body seems a little off. Methinks the ribcage area on his right hand side(the baby side) can stick out a little more. The actual analysis goes like this: you are trying to draw the body in 3/4 view, right? When the body is not fully facing front anymore, you have to consider the curve of the spine and ribcage. He seems to be sitting in a rather straight upright and alert position, so the ribcage would be sticking out front(in this case Right, cos he's facing that direction a little) a little, and the behind(butt area) would be sticking backwards a little(cos spine is S-shaped). Well, for guys prob one doesn't need to show the behind sticking out too much, so lets leave it thus; so stick out the ribcage a little more and see if it works? Something like that. Please tell me if it's difficult to understand; I try to draw a pic. xP 2. The baby perhaps looks a bit too small for that serious expression on his face and his ability to extend his arm to clutch at his father's shirt? Maybe make his overall size a bit larger might be good? That said, I do think also that the baby is super cute, and that expression has a certain whimiscal and ethereal feel about it that is really nice. So although i nitpick about the realistic-ness I still think the son looks really great this way. ^^

actually! i'm not Japanese, i'm VietNamese !
and i think learning Jpese is pretty fun although Kanji always make me confuse but i still try my best cuz in Hgame always have a lot of Kanji and isn't translated into Hiragana !

Hey John.
Yes, the baby in your first piece is too small. A baby old enough to grip clothing needs to take up your whole arm, you wouldn't be able to hold them like that. Behold below example. She's the same age as a clothes gripper and about 4 heads tall, thereabouts. 
Also the hand is a bit small (I know it's a baby's hand) but it should be almost half the size of an adult finger. 
Not sure if it was mentioned before, but the fathers eyes are a little cockeyed. But I must say I do enjoy your pieces, John. There's something to be said about using pencil shading with manga-style work. I do like the most recent one, the group picture, not much I can comment on there besides just make sure that if it's done in pencil, it's got plenty of contrast. And babies are pretty cute when they're smaller  . Just thought
I'd pipe in since not many people do pieces with babies in them!

u know now ! i must learn 2 languages at the same time. English is ok but Jpese really make me exhausted ! i always have 2 test each month for reading, kanji,
listening, writing, interview and i go to class everyday but sunday ! but i think it's worth studing cuz i love playing Hgame, manga and Anime !!!

think maybe they're too short, and her ankles and feet look a bit too small. hope that helps!
