Can anyone tell who this is? But could someone with a "good sense of cloth" tell me if I got the folds right? I mean, okay: "right" is a function of goal especially in our field of manga art, I guess... In that case, does it look good enough?.. the folds, I mean... It's finally dooone! I didn't get to implement some of the suggestions though... sorry Strafe. I personally can't draw them, but I think I'm able to tell if they look bad. Although, some of it is really sketchy and hard to tell what's a fold and what's not. Overall, I like it! And I envy your skill at poses!

You should try it... although I think you should have done some reasonable amount of reading and practicing before trying it out. Yeah, it is kinda sketchy... I keep complaining about that with other people who ask for help but.. anyway, form the lines that do look like folds.. does the general direction look good/make sense? (Maybe I'll have to look for someone who's willing to pose like this for me so I can see what the folds look like...)

Not only that, but you don't overdo them like some other people I've seen ~cough~ me ~cough~ I will try it, in fact I was just instructed to ^^ having someone pose for you is a good idea too - but I don't think you'll find much wrong.

(Yes, now you know why it makes me a sissy-boy) I was planning to make a hilariously serious pic of her... so far... not working out so well. But I'll get it right somehow. The feeling must be like: following the contemplations of a hyperactive entrepreneur/waitress in her tireless search for the true meaning of happiness and service... and she suffers an inner turmoil because she feels that somehow she has only bred impatience and discontent in the people she tries to serve. I dunno if that's hilariously serious enough. But you should download the trial of the game to see what I mean... just google it up. XD (no, I'm not writing some freaky fanfic of a girly game)

MU Senior Posts: 798 11/11/07 16:54:45	Hey! Pharan long time no see post! Let me see, Gulp I think this is the first time I'm going to give critics to Pharan but ok here goes. I could see that her shirt is quite tight around the waist and really hugs her body so I guess the creases on her back may look something like that cause the material may not have enough slack left. I'm still looking at the material located at the underarms (not really able to look at ladies underarms when wearing tight clothes ...well you get what I mean..looks bad for our image as educated people ^_^) it's kindda looks too tight and might tear if stretched further, (not really sure). Along the arms, my perception when there are folds like that on the sleeves, the material comming from the shoulder should taper inside the fold since the fold IS a part of the sleeve that is bunched up together. Not really sure how long her sleeves is but I think it's preet much the same as my office clothes, considering the composition of the material of course. What I've noticed when wearing long sleeves is that a well folded sleeve tends to be more flat and uniformed and the tapering is not that defined but it's still there, while a slouchy (is ther a word like this tee hee) ok sloppy fold tends to be bulkier and more creasses are visible like the time when I was dead drunk hehehehe hik! groan! Well so far this is all that I can contribute to your cause just hope I helped out a even little I could be wrong since i'm no expert in this field also... Well, for one thing, it's really tight around her waist since she has an apron on... not that aprons are supposed to be tied so tight... oops.. and the cloth is supposed to be pulled up and forward towards her left shoulder since she has it raised. I actually made a mistake there 'cause I checked her design again (Pharan, stop being so gay) and the shirt/blouse thing wasn't supposed to tuck into her pants.. but I fixed that part in the inking. but it creates some new problems for me. I'm not sure I understand you with "material coming from the shoulder should taper inside the fold" though. What does that look like? What she's wearing under the apron is in fact a corporate-y blouse normally worn under a blazer. So, yes... "office clothes".. but probably not YOUR office clothes.. though I notice women's corporate clothes tend to follow the body's shape a little more than men's. (no, no... I have a sister who wears stuff like that and she has a corporate-y job.) I'm glad you don't look at ladies underarms, Strafe. It would be a disgrace to the brotherhood. XD

Uh-huh a woman's corporate dress really does look that way, I just wanted to describe the way my sleeves fold react using my own clothes and not how women's clothes should react through my point of view Well about the tapering part and the underarm folds forget about it, I see I got confused with the penciling, told ya I wasn't sure XD, But now that is inked (In which I am a very avid fan of your inking style, did you do this using the Wacom or the regular process?). Just an inquiry though looking at an angle the material beneath her breast (sorry I just don't have the words to pinpoint that area Should there be minor creases there too? Looks nice but seem so "flat" in a an angular sense, This is mostly silk right? Usually the make ladies clothes using very soft silk or in this case a stronger material since she has a blue collar job. . .And her the (AHem) rear of her Pants seem a bit flat too and doesn't exhibit the roundness of her thighs, even if she's wearing slacks I think some small creases should be visible IMO... Yeah, I've been using a tablet lately since I can't ink/clean up in real life 'cause my lightbox is back home and I'm living in a dormitory right now. (it's kinda too bulky to carry around from the airport and stuff.) Haha! I dunno if you come from Japan or something but I have NEVER heard of silky corporate clothes, strafe. XD But my point about the difference between the corp. clothes of men and women is that men generally have looser clothes. Generally.. But I mean there are such a thing as metrosexuals after all so they're the exception. Women's corp. clothes (or at least, for a lot of women) follow the shape of the body more tightly. I'm actually going to add most of the other shading and folds (that don't touch the edge of the visible shapes) in the coloring since I don't believe in putting every little fold as a line... it'd just make the pic look horribly messy. But, noted: creases around her bum. around her bust. and no, she's not wearing silk. But the corp. clothes she's wearing comes from her old job as some financial manager or something so it's not really "blue collar" per se.

Damn can't stop looking at it, the effect of sunlight comming from the window is really relaxing and soothing, hold on I'll get the morning paper and some tea, want one? Cream?....of course I still got my carrots here...Ahhhh Bliss!! Did you learn this by yourself or you had some old guru who lived in the alps as a hermit and thought u the way of the WACOM or something, I had a crash course with photoshop way back 2001 but when I got a job an moved to an apartment I rarely used my photoshop here at home then my brother had interest in video editing and stuff our computer can't cut both softwares so he removed it since I wasn't around, now His wife and kids game are all over the desktop ... GRRRRR Never even though of earning money for a Computer because my living space there is tremendously small.....Crap... DAAAAMMMNNN I REALLLY NEEEED SOOOMEEE HARDWARRRREEEE... P.S.
