what do you like to do when your looking for an idea, sometimes when i need an idea i flip through encyclopedias or art books (Spectrum fantastic art and Dover
FTW ^_^) and some times i look at clouds or night sky and draw what i see(you get some weird stuff outta that), that and i keep all kinds of art taped to the
wall in front of my table.

I actually have a folder in "My Pictures" labelled "Inspiration" where I save some of my favorite images from online (mostly digitally
painted) but ranges from the typical fanart to Renaissance sculptures. It's like my own personalized artbook.

I get most of my inspiration from my favorite artists. I will not list them here since they are H artists and it's inappropriate.
Also, good friends here like lamnura, WoahStripes, Pharan, KasaiLan, and Strafe give me inspiration. They've really helped me with my art and keep me going. Thank you guys. Other than artists, music is also a huge inspiration for me. I have some characters based on my favorite songs and musicians. You can find my favorite bands in the music thread below. As for why they're inspiring, I think you can only understand if you listen to them as well.

Wow, that's a great question, glad we have more people asking questions in this part of the forum.
Me? I get inspiration normally when I'm alone, and it's never expected - normally because it's something I get inspired to do at midnight :P It can range from Anime/ Manga i've recently watched/ read to just hopping around on one leg across a highway... But what get's me going is photographs, they can tell a story of their own, and that's plenty of inspiration. Especially all the awkward panoramic views that make me want to test my own ability. 
So, that's my inspiration in a very small nutshell. Tips for Manga Artisits

Sadly, I don't get inspiration often at all (which explains why I haven't posted much work here); I still need to find the thing that makes me most
inspired. Looking at other peoples' art may help sometimes, like art in a manga I'm reading or just other drawings.
It's really cool seeing how other people find their inspiration. I'm hoping for more replies to read. ☺

Like virtually everybody else, I get inspiration from hearing that awesome song, or seeing that cool anime, or seeing that amazing artist's work. But
it's a little bit more than that, and often it comes from places that are a tad more obscure. I know that just because I have a garden to look at out my
front window, I have a special place to gather inspirational power. I can see the buds on the roses and suddenly my mind makes some unnusual connection that
sends me on a sketching frenzy. In fact, I could go as far to say that just plain looking out a window can give me inspiration. All sorts of things from nature
to artificial process can inspire. Rainfall, trees swaying in the wind, a construction site, it all contributes, but the trick is to find a way to use it.
Sometimes I'll get inspired to draw.... something- I often don't even know what. It just happens.

I get my inspiration (though rare) from my story, nearly everything I draw has something to do with it. I also get a lot of ideas from nature about how my
characters are going to look like or some of their abilities are directly derived from animal and sometimes plants

I mostly got my inspiration by playing video-games. Aside from acquiring inspiration, it also kills my time.

Well i look through art books look on this site and my favourite artists on here... they give a lot of insperation , oh! and the vocaloid songs give lots of
insperation ^^ like alice human sacrafice and trick or treat as well as umm whats it called..daughter of evil ^^
also just sittign down and thinkign about stuff and joining everythign that day i had thought about and seen , for instance one day i was lookign up lolcats and was thinkign about cats skiing (don't ask XD) so i decided to draw a cat girl (also i had seen Tonees cat girl which inspired me ^^) |

Well when i start a draw i never know very well what i'm going to draw. But when i start drawing and i do the pose i start imagining characters from the
shows i most like. The anime that most gives me inspiration is Naruto. Although i like to see clothes, hairs and others stuff from other anime series too.
